Research from Barclays and AlphaSense suggests AI-powered robotics is at a tipping point. The market for humanoids is currently valued at $2-3 billion and is projected to surge to $40 billion by 2035 in a base case, with upside scenarios reaching $200 billion.
Actuators, the electro-mechanical systems that allow robots to replicate human movements, account for 40–60% of a humanoid robot's bill of materials. The motor, reducer, driver, and encoder stack represent 80–90% of that figure.
